Susan Goren Goldis

Meet

Meet Susan Goren Goldis, the artist behind Nayot Design, whose journey from Michigan to Israel to Honduras has shaped a body of work as layered and luminous as the landscapes she's lived in. Raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Susan built a career first as a lawyer and then as a humanitarian aid worker, with postings in Nigeria, Mexico, Israel, and Honduras, where she now lives with her husband, an Israeli diplomat, and their three young children.

Across each country, Susan visited small artisan workshops, collaborated with local makers, and collected handmade objects steeped in tradition. That love of craft eventually led her back to her own creative roots, and in April 2026, she launched Nayot Design with her first body of work: The Hebrew Nursery Collection.
Her pieces layer the textures of gouache, colored pencils, and Caran d'Ache crayons into a painterly aesthetic, with warm earth tones, a vintage 60s and 70s sensibility, and a wink of whimsy. She draws inspiration from Honduran villages, local markets, and the harvests of coffee and cacao.

After living in Israel during October 7 and raising her children abroad, Susan felt an urgency to create Hebrew pieces that evoke Jewish pride and continuity. Through Nayot Design, she brings that sense of belonging, heritage, and light into everyday life, one hand-drawn piece at a time.

Susan Goren Goldis is the artist behind Nayot Design, creating contemporary Hebrew nursery prints that weave together Jewish identity, global inspiration, and a love of the handmade.

"As both a diaspora Jew and an Israeli Jew, creating more Hebrew in the world became deeply personal after October 7. I wanted to make pieces that feel thoughtful and design-forward, and that serve as everyday reminders of heritage and light."
