Each card in this collection is a print of an original painting from Ulysse’s Temple of Heroes series, created in the aftermath of October 7. The works reflect his time in a reconnaissance unit, stationed on the Lebanon border, amid the shock, fear, and intensity of a war that changed everything.
These cards capture the moments that could not be lived aloud: friends lost, Hanukkah candles left unlit, letters unsent, the smell of smoke, the sun on his neck, and the quiet pain of carrying memories no one can fully share. From brief breaks in the studio to the frontlines, Ulysse painted amidst grief, anger, and longing — transforming fragments of reality into layered, dreamlike compositions where chronology fades, memory lingers, and the presence of fallen comrades is felt in every brushstroke.
Each card is a tribute: to the soldiers who did not survive, to those who endured, and to the captives who will finally light their own candles this year. The cards invite reflection, remembrance, and connection, allowing the recipient to hold a fragment of this personal journey — a story of resilience, memory, and the search for peace amidst chaos.
