Meet
Ofer Rubin is the maker behind Jerusalem Chimes—a workshop where wind, wood, and sound come to life.
Since founding the brand in 1988, Ofer has turned his love for nature and music into handcrafted wind chimes, vanes, and intricate woodwork, each piece carrying a story of resilience and connection.
Born in Bat Yam, Ofer was a professional surfer and set designer for Tel Aviv’s theaters. But after a spinal injury forced him to quit surfing, he sought a new way to stay connected to the sea. While living in Jerusalem, he crafted a small wind chime for his window—to bring the sound of waves into his home. That first bell sparked a passion, and Jerusalem Chimes was born.
Now based in Rosh Pina, Ofer and his team handcraft each piece, tuning them to musical scales designed to bring balance and calm. “Each chime isn’t just music—it influences emotional frequencies in the body,” he explains.
Since October 7, business has slowed. “Fewer people are coming to the area,” he says. But through his art, Ofer hopes to bring peace and healing—one chime at a time.
