Chavi Feldman

Meet

In her home studio in Chashmonaim, artist Chavi Feldman brings centuries-old papercut traditions into the modern era, creating Judaica and original works that reflect both heritage and hope. Originally from Toronto, Canada, she made aliyah with her husband and newborn daughter in 1993 and has called Israel home ever since. Inspired by the colors of pomegranate trees, bougainvillea, and olive groves, her art is rooted in the land and the stories of its people.

Chavi’s journey began at 16 when she studied with a local papercut artist and designed her first Ketubah a year later. After graduating from George Brown College’s Graphic Design and Advertising program, she began hand-dying paper and crafting custom Judaica. Today, she designs digitally using the same design principles as papercutting to bring her work to life, a modern evolution of her earliest sketches.

The Holy Land Art Shoppe launched in the summer of 2023, just months before October 7. Like many artists, Chavi froze in the aftermath of the attacks, but she returned to her craft with a piece depicting a flourishing Jerusalem crowned with the words Am Yisrael Chai. That breakthrough reignited her creativity, opening the door to new art that uplifts and celebrates Israel even in its darkest moments.

Through The Holy Land Art Shoppe, Chavi continues to create art that blends tradition and modernity, resilience and beauty, pieces meant to inspire hearts and adorn walls around the world.

Chavi Feldman blends tradition and innovation to create digital prints in Judaica designs that celebrate Israel’s beauty and resilience.

“My art is my way of showing Israel as I dream it—vibrant, flourishing, and full of hope.”
