Susan's House
Meet
Susan’s House is a nurturing creative hub that empowers youth at risk across Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh, and Eilat through art, vocational training, and life skills.
Established in 2002 in memory of Susan Kaplansky, who dreamed of helping young people through art, Susan’s House provides teens with professional training and work opportunities in glass, ceramics, and jewelry making. The youth earn fair wages for their beautiful creations while receiving emotional support and life skills coaching from a dedicated team of artists, volunteers, and therapists. This unique blend fosters self-confidence, teamwork, financial management, decision-making, and a deeper understanding of the world of work.
During times of crisis, such as recent conflicts that displaced many families, Susan’s House has remained a safe haven—welcoming youth from all over, encouraging creativity, healing, and resilience. Operating in three locations and serving dozens of young people annually, the nonprofit’s mission is clear: to help at-risk youth become happy, functioning adults who positively contribute to society.
Susan’s House transforms the lives of at-risk youth through art, vocational training, and life skills, building confidence and hope in Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh, and Eilat.
“Art is the bridge that connects our youth to their potential, helping them grow into confident, capable adults.”
