Hadara Rabinowitz
Meet
Hadara Rabinowitz, originally from Newton, MA, opened her first studio in Jerusalem soon after graduating from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in 2005. Initially drawn to conceptual work across video and sculpture, she discovered her true voice in clay, inspired by the melodies and words of tefilah (Jewish prayer) that have long been the soundtrack of her life.
Early mentorship from established artists gave Hadara the support and space to pursue her craft fully. Her work is deeply personal, shaped not only by her spiritual practice but also by the lived realities of life in Israel. Themes like gratitude and the word “dayenu” take on new resonance in light of war, daily challenges, and the enduring hope of her community.
Opening a new studio and gallery just eight days before October 7, a date that also marks her birthday, brought unexpected challenges, both emotional and financial. Yet, Hadara remains guided by the simple, grounding act of creation. For her, making is instinctual; her hands are always drawn to work, translating life, prayer, and reflection into tangible forms of beauty and meaning.
Each piece Hadara creates is a testament to resilience, hope, and the quiet power of gratitude, carrying a sense of home, connection, and enduring light.
Hadara Rabinowitz transforms clay into evocative works that celebrate resilience, prayer, and the beauty of daily life. Crafted in her Jerusalem studio, each piece reflects lived experience, spiritual reflection, and creative devotion.
“Creating is the only thing I truly know how to do. Even in uncertainty, the act of working with my hands connects me to hope, meaning, and the rhythms of life.”
