Abbie Greenberg
Meet
Abbie has worked with clay since childhood, honing her craft with teachers in New York, Jerusalem, and beyond. Now, from her Jerusalem studio, she finds serenity in the city’s history, beauty, and intensity.
Her work is rooted in the belief that beauty should be lived with, not saved for special occasions. “My mother always used her ‘good china’ every day,” she shares. “That shaped me. I make pieces that are elegant yet sturdy—light in the hand, strong enough for daily meals.”
Feeling Centered Ceramics reflects the calming process of centering clay on the wheel—requiring patience, focus, and calm. “When the clay is centered, I feel centered. I hope my ceramics bring that same feeling.”
But after October 7, calm felt impossible. “For weeks, I couldn’t step into my studio. I had left it mid-project on October 6—bags of minerals open, tools scattered. Unlocking the door in November felt like entering another world.”
Her children urged her back to work. Then, she found a purpose: every shekel she earns will help build a ceramics studio in one of the devastated border communities. “When people return, I want them to have a place to heal through clay, as I do.”
Abbie has always felt deeply connected to Israeli culture, but this war changed something inside her.
For Abbie, it's all about feeling centered & finding purpose.
“This war made me Israeli. Life here is raw and real—so are we”
