Dannah Levy

Meet

For Dannah Levy, clay has been a lifelong companion. What began as playful curiosity in childhood grew into a serious pursuit while living in San Diego, where she rediscovered her love for clay in a ceramics class. That experience soon turned into an apprenticeship and a deep connection with a community of artists.

When she returned to Israel in the 1990’s, she opened her own studio while also working as an interior designer. Over time, ceramics became more than a passion—it became her voice. More than a decade ago, she chose to devote herself entirely to this path.

Her inspiration comes from the natural world—trees with deep roots and shifting leaves, the simplicity of form, and the beauty found in imperfection. Every vessel, ornament, or menorah carries the imprint of the moment it was made, a reflection of life’s fragility, strength, and constant change.

In these challenging times, her studio is both a sanctuary and a source of resilience. Even when creating feels difficult, the act of shaping clay becomes a way to process hardship, transforming fear and heaviness into something tangible and meaningful. Through her ceramics, Dannah shares not only beauty and function but also a quiet reminder of strength and renewal.

Dannah Levy creates handmade vessels, ornaments, and Judaica through her studio Clay by Dannah, shaping clay into pieces that reflect resilience, nature, and the quiet beauty of imperfection.

“Even in difficult times, working with clay transforms heaviness into focus and renewal—it’s where strength and beauty are reborn.”
