Makers of Israel is collaborating with Gil School in Tel Aviv, a haven for children and adults with autism aged 12 to 21. One of Makers of Israel's founders, Talya Frankel, is a dedicated teacher at Gil School, which provides a nurturing environment for its 184 students. The school’s mission centers on fostering independence, communication, and social-emotional skills, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Since October 7, Gil School has opened its doors to welcome displaced students from the north and south of Israel. Despite the challenges, the school successfully created a safe and comforting environment for all of its new students and staff members. It remains a place of stability and creativity for all those welcomed into the Gil family during this difficult time.
Through a unique collaboration with Makers of Israel, Gil School is showcasing the creative talents of its students. As part of the school’s vocational program, the students have designed and crafted beautiful personalized Hanukkah cards and thoughtfully packaged Hanukkah candles. Each item reflects their artistic vision and dedication, serving as a testament to their abilities and growth.
Keren Yamin, the principal of Gil School, added that: “Purchasing these handmade creations not only supports the students’ development but also empowers them to build confidence and engage in meaningful activities. I am honored for Gil School to be involved in Makers of Israel’s first collection.”
